Move from Affinity to Attio without losing your deal flow
Migrate your lists, organizations, people, and opportunities, keep the interaction history the export allows, and launch a flexible workspace that runs dealflow, LPs, and portfolio in one place, at a fraction of Affinity's cost. If you fund a venture firm, see how I set this up on the Attio for VC page.
Why teams leave Affinity
Affinity is a strong tool for dealmakers, and its relationship intelligence is genuinely best-in-class. But it is built almost entirely around dealflow, and it is priced for enterprises. For a lot of firms, those two facts eventually collide with reality.
Common reasons for switching:
- Quote-based, enterprise pricing that runs into thousands per user per year
- Annual contracts and seat minimums that don't flex with the team
- A dealflow-first data model that resists LPs, portfolio ops, and fundraising
- Relationship intelligence you're paying a premium for, when a leaner tool now covers the essentials
- A desire for native AI across the whole workspace, not layered on dealflow
- Wanting one flexible CRM instead of a single-purpose tool plus spreadsheets
Attio gives you a fast, modern CRM with a flexible relational data model, native AI, interaction auto-capture, and pricing that starts free, while still handling deal flow properly.

What I help with
Migration planning
Audit your Affinity workspace: lists, organizations, people, opportunities, and custom fields. Decide what maps directly, what gets restructured, and what to leave behind.
Data cleanup
Clean up duplicate contacts, stale opportunities, and dead fields before they follow you into the new CRM. A migration is the best moment to do it.
Object and list mapping
Map Affinity lists, organizations, people, and opportunities into Attio's relational data model, keeping your deal-flow structure while gaining custom objects for LPs and portfolio.
Interaction and note history
Bring across interaction history and notes where the Affinity export allows, so relationships do not start from zero and context is not lost.
Workspace setup
Rebuild your pipeline, views, automations, and permissions in Attio, and set up interaction auto-capture so the team works from day one.
Custom objects beyond dealflow
Model LPs, portfolio companies, and fundraising as their own objects, the workflows Affinity's dealflow-first model never made room for.
The process
1. Audit
I review your Affinity workspace: lists, organizations, people, opportunities, custom fields, and how your team actually uses relationship intelligence day to day.
2. Plan
We define the target structure in Attio, agree on what maps directly, and identify anything (LPs, portfolio ops) worth modeling properly for the first time.
3. Clean
I clean the data before export. Duplicate contacts, dead opportunities, abandoned fields. The migration carries forward only what matters.
4. Migrate
I run a sample migration first, validate the mapping, then execute the full import of lists, organizations, people, opportunities, and available interaction history.
5. Rebuild
Deal-flow pipeline, views, automations, interaction auto-capture, and any custom objects beyond dealflow are built out in Attio.
6. Launch
Your team gets a walkthrough, written documentation, and a support window after go-live to smooth out anything that surfaces.
FAQ
What from Affinity can actually be migrated?
Lists, organizations, people, and opportunities map onto Attio objects, along with most custom fields. Interaction history and notes carry over where the Affinity export allows. Relationship-strength scores are Affinity-specific and do not transfer as-is, though Attio can rebuild interaction capture going forward.
Will I lose my relationship intelligence?
Be clear-eyed here: Affinity's out-of-the-box relationship-strength scoring and warm-intro graph are its specialty and do not migrate directly. What you keep is the underlying interaction history and contacts, and Attio can auto-capture email and calendar activity going forward. If that network graph is your single most important feature, we should talk before you commit.
How long does an Affinity to Attio migration take?
Most migrations take around 2-4 weeks end-to-end, including restructuring, rebuilding the pipeline, and onboarding the team. Larger firms with heavy customization take longer. A straightforward import without restructuring can be quicker.
What does Attio cost compared to Affinity?
Affinity pricing is quote-based and, historically, expensive, often thousands of dollars per user per year on annual contracts. Attio is free for up to 3 users with published paid tiers that come in dramatically lower per seat, so the ongoing cost is usually a fraction of Affinity.
Do we keep Affinity running during the migration?
Yes. Affinity stays live until the Attio workspace is verified and the team is trained. Then you cut over. No window where the fund is flying blind on deal flow.
Can Attio handle our deal flow and LPs afterward?
Yes. I keep your deal-flow pipeline intact and, because Attio's data model is flexible, add custom objects for LPs and portfolio companies too. See the Attio for VC page for how that data model is built.
Will my team need training?
Attio's modern, fast UI makes the learning curve short. I include a walkthrough session and written documentation as part of the migration, and partners tend to adopt it quickly because updating records stops being a chore.
